STRAWBERRIES

Oxnard:

Harvest Status: Fall crop planting is underway.

Santa Maria:

Quality: Quality is good overall with minor defects of bruising, deformed tips, and occasional pin rot. 

Volume: Volume is steadily increasing.

Pack Counts: Conventional Fall Crop: 18-20-22 ct. / Organic Fall Crop: 18-20-22 ct.

Watsonville/Salinas:

Quality: A short heatwave last week increased the occurrence of overripe and soft fruit. Crews are working hard to keep clean packs.

Volume: Production remains strong, as the season starts to decline. 

Pack Counts: Conventional: 20-22-25 ct. / Organic: 28-30 ct.

BLUEBERRIES

Oregon:

Quality: Quality is good for the end of the season. 

Volume: This is the last week of production. 

Mexico:

Quality: Quality is great.
 

Volume: Volume is increasing each week with lots of blue and green fruit. 

South America:

Quality: Quality is great with good size and bloom.
 
Volume: Peru is in its peak season. Congestion at the ports is delaying some shipments, but crates are arriving.
 

RASPBERRIES

Mexico:

Quality: Quality is very good with occasional minor soft tips. Growers are working to manage yellow rust and botrytis.

Volume: Volume continues to be strong and steady.

Quality: Quality is very good with occasional soft fruit.

Volume: Production is projected to be steady through the beginning of October.

BLACKBERRIES

Mexico:

Quality: Quality is good with nice size and color.

Volume: Fields are loaded with flowers and fruit of all colors. Numbers are increasing week over week.

Quality: A short heatwave has increased the frequency of soft fruit and red cell. Shorter days and cooler weather should help improve quality. 
 
Volume: Volumes are beginning to decrease.
