Blueberries
Oregon:
This week conventional blueberry volume will summit, as the significant production will begin to slope down slightly starting next week; however substantial volumes will remain for the next several weeks. The end of next week will complete Duke (variety) harvest for most of our growers, and harvest of mid-season varieties start next week: Draper, Megasblue, Blue Ribbon, Top Shelf to name a few varieties.

Organic production is gearing up for its peak 1st of August and will continue with steady volumes through August. Quality has been very good overall. Size, color, and flavor are all great.

British Columbia:
Our British Columbia blueberry growers will begin harvesting light volume this week and next. The outlook for BC blueberries include intermittent weather patterns, labor shortages, and fair to poor quality to start the season. This is unusual for this time of year – availability of good quality volumes for the fresh market will be affected.
