Crop Updates

STRAWBERRIES

Oxnard

Quality: Quality is good overall, with good shape and sheen. 90 - 95% color on fruit. Plant health is strong following rain.  

Volume: Volumes are light this week due to rain event, but are anticipated to increase quickly week-over-week.

Pack Counts: Conventional: 16-20

Santa Maria

Quality: Conventional and organic quality is good with some rot and water damage.

Volume: Production is down to due to rain damage resulting in 50% damaged fruit. Volume to increase quickly in coming weeks.   

Pack Counts: Conventional Spring Crop: 10-14-18, depending on ranch; Organic Spring Crop: 14-18; Organic Fall Crop: 25-32

Watsonville/Salinas

Harvest Status: Crews focused on cleaning up furrows, following rain event. Light harvest anticipated in the following week.   

Florida

Quality: Quality is good for conventional and organic fruit. Some bruised or overripe fruit.

Volume: Production is decreasing.   

Pack Counts: 28 - 34, depending on ranch

BLUEBERRIES

Mexico

Quality: Quality is excellent.  

Volume: Production will decrease slightly over the next few weeks.

Oxnard

Quality: Quality is good.   

Volume: Production is slightly decreased.

Harvest Status: Light harvests are underway.  

RASPBERRIES

Mexico

Quality: Quality is good with clean packs. Some growers are fighting soft and darkened berries due to higher than average temperatures.  

Volume: Production is steady. 

BLACKBERRIES

Mexico

Quality: Quality is good overall with some red cell and leaky berries due to temperature fluctuations.  

Volume: Production is light.
