Crop Updates

STRAWBERRIES

Oxnard:

Harvest Status: Fall crop planting has finished. 

Santa Maria:

Quality: Rain last weekend resulted in 40-50% water damaged and dropped fruit. Crews are working hard to keep a clean pack. Nice green fruit is coming on that should thrive as damaged fruit is cleaned up.

Volume: Volumes have decreased due to weather-related dropped and damaged fruit.

Pack Counts: Conventional Fall Crop: 20-22-24 depending on ranch / Organic Fall Crop: 20-22-24 depending on ranch

BLUEBERRIES

Mexico:

Quality: Quality is good with occasional flower debris and ripped calyxes.

Volume: Production continues to increase.

South America:

Quality: Quality continues to be excellent in all regions.
 
Volume: Harvests are declining out of Peru. Volume from Argentina remains steady, and containers from Chile are expected to begin arriving in week 46.
 

RASPBERRIES

Mexico:

Quality: Fruit is firm with a large size. Dry weather has improved quality and cleared insect pressure. 

Volume: Volume is steady.

Quality: Quality is good.

Volume: Production will continue at low volumes for 2-3 more weeks.

BLACKBERRIES

Mexico:

Quality: Quality is good with large amounts of big, healthy green fruit.

Volume: Production will increase quickly as green fruit ripens.

Quality: Heavy rains have ended the season.
