Crop Updates

STRAWBERRIES

Santa Maria:

Quality: This organic crop's quality is good overall with some small-sized fruit and minor bruising.

Volume: Organic volumes will remain steady for the next 2-3 weeks. Conventional fall crop will start light harvests next week.

Pack Counts: Organic: 22-25 ct.

Santa Maria Strawberry

Watsonville/Salinas:

Quality: The quality of this crop has improved this week with good sheen and size.

Volume: With improved fruit quality, estimates have slightly increased and are expected to hold for the next month.

Pack Counts: Conventional: 18-20-22 ct., depending on variety and ranch. Organic: 22-26 ct. depending on variety and ranch.

BLUEBERRIES

Oregon:

Quality: Overall quality is great with occasional soft and shriveled fruit leftover from the extremely hot weather. 

Volume: Volume is increasing, as plants recover from the end of June heatwave.

British Columbia:

Quality: Quality is great as the crop rebounds from the extreme heat.

Volume: Packs are expected to start shipping this week. Large volumes are expected for the next two weeks and then will start to wind down.

RASPBERRIES

Mexico:

Quality: Wet weather has increased moisture-related quality issues. Crews are working hard to keep packs clean.

Volume: Volumes have decreased due to rain.

Watsonville/Salinas:

Quality: Quality is good with a few minor defects. Crews are keeping clean packs.

Volume: Production will remain steady through July and increase in August.

Santa Maria:

Quality: Good quality fruit with occasional leaky and red cells.

Volume: Production continues to increase each week.

Quality: Quality is excellent.

 Volume: Volume will continue to increase through July and into August.
