Crop Updates

STRAWBERRIES 

Santa Maria

Quality: Both conventional and organic quality is good with occasional overripe or bruised fruit.  

Volume: Production remains strong as peak volumes decrease.  

Pack Counts: Conventional Spring Crop: 20-22-24 depending on ranch; Organic Spring Crop: 20-22-26 depending on ranch 

Watsonville/Salinas

Quality: Quality is good with some misshapen and bruised fruit.   

Volume: Production is strong with high volumes.  

Pack Counts: Conventional: 16-18-20 depending on ranch; Organic: 20-22, 24-26 depending on ranch 

 

BLUEBERRIES

Mexico

Quality: Quality is good for both organic and conventional fruit.  

Volume: Conventional production continues to decrease, and organic volumes remain steady.  

 Central Valley, CA 

Quality: Conventional and organic quality is excellent.   

Volume: Peak production continues for both conventional and organic fruit.  

Georgia 

Quality: Quality is good.  

Volume: Highbush production is light as the season closes. Rabbiteye volume is anticipated to pick up toward the beginning of June.  

RASPBERRIES

Mexico 

Quality: Quality is good with some smaller-sized, broken fruit due to hot weather.  

Volume: Production continues to be steady. 

Watsonville 

Quality: Quality is excellent as the season starts.  

Volume: Volumes are quickly increasing.  

BLACKBERRIES

Mexico

Quality: Quality is good.  

Volume: Production continues to slowly decrease and will increase again this summer. 

Georgia 

Harvest Status: Light first harvests are expected to begin this week.  

Watsonville 

Harvest Status: Quality is great. Light harvests continue with volumes estimated to increase in July.
